Job Description

Sanlam is seeking a dynamic Branch Manager to lead our Kwagga branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving branch strategy, increasing the customer base, and ensuring revenue growth for Sanlam Retail Mass. This role entails managing a high-performing team of Sales Consultants, fostering a culture of excellent service delivery, and maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Development and Execution

  • Collaborate with the Area Manager to develop and implement a retail branch strategy aligned with provincial goals.
  • Define targets, objectives, and metrics for the branch.
  • Manage operational costs within the allocated budget.
  • Develop incentive programs to drive Sales Consultant performance.

Branch Sales and Activations

  • Plan and execute campaigns, promotions, and events to attract new clients.
  • Represent the branch at community forums and events to establish awareness and generate business opportunities.

Operational Effectiveness

  • Communicate branch strategy, sales targets, and goals to the team.
  • Monitor performance metrics and address areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with HR, Technology, and other support functions to optimize systems and processes.
  • Identify and address operational inefficiencies proactively.

Service Culture and Client Experience

  • Establish streamlined processes to ensure optimal client service.
  • Monitor and maintain service delivery standards and SLAs.
  • Handle client complaints and escalations promptly, ensuring feedback and resolution.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure alignment with FSCA regulations and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
  • Communicate and uphold quality standards across the branch.

People Management

  • Collaborate with HR to build a capable and motivated team.
  • Oversee performance management, talent development, and staff accreditation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous professional growth and excellence.

Planning and Reporting

  • Prepare monthly and annual sales and service activity reports.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and inform future planning.

Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • RE1 and RE5 certifications.
  • 120 Wealth Management credits or a tertiary qualification recognized by the FSCA.
  • Class of Business accreditation (annual).
  • Compliant with CPD requirements.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Customer service and management expertise.
  • Strong reporting and administrative abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance, accreditation, and business processes.
  • Familiarity with service offerings and industry standards.
