Job Overview:
BUCO is seeking a dynamic Branch Manager for our Citiwood Durban location. The ideal candidate will oversee branch operations, ensuring profitability and delivering exceptional customer service while promoting the company’s values and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Profitability Management: Drive the branch’s profitability through effective cost management and sales growth.
- Planning and Budgeting: Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement operational plans and budgets.
- Procurement and Stock Control: Manage procurement processes, stock control, and merchandising to optimize inventory levels.
- Stock Variance Maintenance: Ensure stock variances are kept to a minimum and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
- Financial Management: Oversee the financial processes to ensure alignment with company policies and best practices.
- Customer Service: Foster a customer-centric culture, ensuring all customer inquiries and complaints are resolved effectively.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Take accountability for the daily operations, administration, and overall management of the branch team.
- Operational Analysis: Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- People Management: Lead, motivate, and develop the branch team to achieve performance objectives.
- Legislative Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including health and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or equivalent experience
- Preferably a diploma in Finance or Management
- 5-10 years of retail experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a junior to mid-level management role
- Previous industry-related experience is essential
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of logistics/procurement principles
- Knowledge of merchandising principles
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act is an advantage
