Responsibilities
- Drive business productivity, quality, and manpower targets.
- Ensure compliance and mitigate business risks.
- Oversee daily branch operations.
- Manage and develop staff performance.
- Resolve escalated operational issues.
- Manage budgets and resource allocation.
- Oversee worksites or facilities.
- Implement and manage business changes.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
- Handle talent and succession management.
- Ensure compliance with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
- Lead and manage a team of managers.
- Develop worksite management strategies and strengthen relationships.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 qualification.
- A degree or three-year diploma in Finance, Marketing, or Business Management.
- A full qualification of 120 credits at NQF level 4 is required; NQF level 5 is advantageous (Categories B1 and B2 as per FSB’s recognized qualification list).
- RE5 certification is mandatory.
- RE1 certification is required upon appointment.
Class of Business (COB) Requirements
Candidates deemed Fit and Proper for Tier 1 before 01 April 2018 are considered competent for Class of Business. Those still under supervision pre- or post-01 April 2018 must complete Class of Business before appointment. A candidate under supervision cannot be appointed as a Branch Manager.
Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, including 3 years in sales management.
- Preference for candidates with insurance sales experience in the entry-level market.
