Sanlam Vacancies – Branch Consultant – Financial Advisor
Purpose of the Role
As a Branch Consultant/Financial Advisor, you will play a vital role in promoting Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products and increasing market share by:
- Offering sound financial advice and exceptional client service within a branch setting.
- Identifying opportunities to optimize client portfolios and cross-sell value-added services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Delivery
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of SRM products.
- Understand customer needs, financial goals, and means to recommend suitable products.
- Keep clients informed of new and updated products, integrating changes into their portfolios.
- Validate client details and ensure compliance with product and regulatory standards.
- Submit new business accurately and conduct due diligence to mitigate risks.
- Efficiently manage appointments and accommodate walk-in clients.
2. In-Branch Client Service & Retention
- Manage and service client profiles, ensuring long-term retention.
- Follow up on payments, send reminders, and provide ongoing support.
- Address NTU (Not Taken Up) clients and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide insights into client risk profiles, consulting on alternative payment arrangements.
- Resolve client queries and escalate complex issues when needed, ensuring timely follow-ups.
3. Quality, Compliance & Development
- Stay up-to-date with compliance and quality standards.
- Maintain current registrations, CPD points, and product knowledge.
- Identify and address risks, including fraudulent activities.
- Log all activities accurately for regulatory and reporting purposes.
4. Planning & Reporting
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports using the required technology platforms.
- Support the branch manager with ad-hoc responsibilities as needed.
Knowledge and Skills
- Client service excellence
- Sales and cross-selling strategies
- Insurance product and regulatory knowledge (advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum 1 year in sales or marketing
- Experience within an insurance branch is an advantage

Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- RE5 certification (essential)
- FAIS compliant (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirements
- Class of Business training (to be completed within 12 months of employment)
- CPD hours as per regulatory requirements
