Job Description:
We are looking for a passionate Barista to join our team at Food Lovers Market! As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and other beverages to customers in the Streatery. You will collaborate with fellow Baristas to take orders, craft drinks, and deliver timely service. This position reports directly to the Streatery Manager and requires flexibility to work various shifts, including Sundays and Public Holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Barista, your daily tasks will include:
- Preparing and serving coffee and tea drinks that meet our quality standards.
- Properly handling and maintaining all coffee-making equipment.
- Responding to customer orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner.
- Demonstrating strong numeric skills to accurately handle cash and credit card payments, adhering to proper cash handling procedures.
- Operating a point of sale (POS) system effectively to process orders and payments.
- Providing exceptional customer service by serving customers quickly and going above and beyond to meet their needs.
- Using your product knowledge to assist customers in making informed choices about our menu offerings.
- Observing all relevant health and safety standards.
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic workstation.
- Staying informed about promotions and advertisements to effectively communicate with customers.
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers and coworkers while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Exhibiting professionalism and attention to detail in all interactions and tasks.
Requirements:
To be considered for the Barista position, you must have:
- A Matric certificate.
- Proficiency in English.
- A clear criminal record.
Preferences:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are a plus:
- EE/AA candidates.
- South African candidates.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Barista.
- Proximity to the job location (within 15 km).
