Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at Food Lovers Market. In this role, you will be responsible for baking a variety of high-quality products daily. Your tasks will include following recipes, using bakery equipment to proof and bake goods, and presenting the finished products in our display for customers. As a Baker, you will play a key role in maintaining production schedules and ensuring all items are available at all times. You will also have the opportunity to handle special customer orders, assist with stocktaking, and liaise with suppliers for ingredient orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes accurately, measuring and mixing ingredients as per instructions.
  • Create and test new product recipes before production.
  • Maintain an efficient production schedule, ensuring all bakery products are always available.
  • Work early hours to produce fresh goods for customers.
  • Perform weekly stock takes and monitor inventory levels.
  • Communicate with the bakery manager regarding stock shortages and place orders with suppliers.
  • Assist in the preparation of various baked goods.
  • Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters.
  • Keep your work area clean and organized, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.

Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
  • Previous experience as a Baker is essential.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Reside within 25 km of the job location.
  • Clear criminal record.
