Spar Vacancies – Baker
The Baker is responsible for producing high-quality yeast-based bakery products in line with the Bakery Manager’s production plans. This role ensures consistency, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute cyclical production plans to meet demand
- Manage and control ingredients for yeast-based products
- Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage
- Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards
- Supervise bakery staff and ensure efficient workflow
- Deliver excellent customer service and product quality
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Recognized technical qualification in yeast-based baking
- At least 3 years of baking experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of bakery products and ingredients
- Knowledge of production and cold chain processes
- Experience with bakery equipment handling and maintenance
- Ability to supervise and train staff
- Awareness of food safety regulations and industry trends
