Spar Vacancies – Baker

The Baker is responsible for producing high-quality yeast-based bakery products in line with the Bakery Manager’s production plans. This role ensures consistency, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute cyclical production plans to meet demand
  • Manage and control ingredients for yeast-based products
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage
  • Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards
  • Supervise bakery staff and ensure efficient workflow
  • Deliver excellent customer service and product quality

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / NQF Level 4 equivalent
  • Recognized technical qualification in yeast-based baking
  • At least 3 years of baking experience

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of bakery products and ingredients
  • Knowledge of production and cold chain processes
  • Experience with bakery equipment handling and maintenance
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Awareness of food safety regulations and industry trends
