Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Baker to join our team at Food Lovers Market! In this role, you will be responsible for baking a variety of products daily. This includes reading and following recipes, using bakery equipment to proof and bake goods, and presenting them attractively for our customers. As a Baker, you’ll need to maintain a tight work and production schedule, ensuring that all products in our range are consistently available. You may also be required to handle special orders and conduct weekly stock takes, as well as ordering supplies from our vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Baker, you will:
- Follow recipes accurately, using the correct quantities of ingredients, and create new recipe templates for new products before production.
- Adhere to a production schedule to ensure all bakery products are stocked and available.
- Maintain high energy levels to produce baked goods from early hours.
- Conduct accurate weekly stock takes.
- Notify the bakery manager when ingredients are running low and order from the appropriate supplier.
- Assist in the preparation of various baked goods.
- Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following food safety and hygiene standards.
Requirements:
To be considered for the Baker position, you must have:
- A Matric certificate.
- Experience as a Baker.
- Proficiency in English.
- Availability to work within 15km of the job location.
- A clear criminal record.
