Job Purpose:
To assist the Store Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the store, driving sales, and fostering customer loyalty to meet sales, profit, and compliance targets, contributing to the competitive edge of the brand.

Job Objectives:

  • Support the achievement of the store’s financial performance by driving sales through promotional activities, cross-selling, up-selling initiatives, and exceptional customer service across the store team.

  • Effectively manage operational activities, including stock control, shrinkage, expenses, general housekeeping, and administrative tasks.

  • Ensure in-store visual merchandising meets presentation and promotional standards, aligning with the brand image.

  • Assist the Store Manager in motivating and guiding staff to achieve performance goals, and effectively manage the store in the manager’s absence.

  • Help maintain daily staff schedules in line with the Group’s labor policy and labor model, ensuring appropriate staffing for each department.

  • Implement customer service initiatives that enhance customer experience, build loyalty, and achieve club card participation targets.

  • Manage administrative duties, including time and attendance tracking and submitting employee records to HR.

  • Promote the company’s vision of being the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by embodying and driving the company values.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Essential: Grade 12 (Mathematics 50% and English 50%).

  • Essential: Relevant Retail/Business Management qualification (for external applicants).

  • Desirable: Degree in Retail/Business Management.

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an assistant store management role within a retail/FMCG environment or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.

  • Experience in financial management (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.).

Job Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding and application of financial management principles.

  • Retail/FMCG background with knowledge of merchandising and promotional strategies.

  • Knowledge of stock management, cost control, risk management, and compliance procedures.

  • Expertise in delivering excellent customer service.

  • Understanding of labor legislation and industrial relations practices.

  • People management skills and experience in competency-based interviewing.

  • Numeracy skills and financial acumen.

  • Results-driven, with excellent planning and organizing capabilities.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and customer-focused mindset.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Computer literacy.
