Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Assistant Store Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our store. In this role, you will assist in ensuring the store’s growth, profitability, and efficient management by maximizing sales and controlling costs. You will identify new business opportunities, innovate to improve store performance, and ensure that all operations are aligned with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in driving sales and profitability by identifying opportunities and taking calculated risks to grow the business
- Manage stock in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure accurate inventory control
- Maintain a clean, well-organized, and merchandised retail environment
- Ensure all pricing on products, shelves, and bulk displays is accurate and follows company standards
- Oversee till operations, including calculating and preparing tills for the next day’s operation
- Lead, motivate, and guide store employees to achieve objectives and ensure a positive work environment
- Monitor and improve sales staff performance to achieve store goals
- Address customer complaints and resolve them effectively
- Coordinate promotions, advertising, and public relations to enhance the store’s brand presence
- Assist the Store Manager in analyzing operational data, identifying problem areas, and implementing solutions with support from the Operations Management Team
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification
- Higher Certificate or Diploma
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a retail environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/management role
- Intermediate computer skills
