Purpose of Job
An Artisan supports production by providing reliable maintenance on mechanical equipment, ensuring operational stability while adhering to procedures, codes, and utilizing all available resources to maintain plant and equipment sustainability.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform service and general maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Conduct fault-finding and problem-solving on mechanical systems.
• Apply general pneumatic knowledge where required.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Adhere to quality, safety, and Safety Management Systems.
• Follow emergency procedures effectively.
• Read, interpret, and implement task risk assessments.
• Identify hazards and complete task risk assessments.
• Utilize plant maintenance documentation systems correctly.
• Work shifts and overtime as required.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety awareness.
• Conform to Sasol Values and actively contribute to discussions for improving maintenance and quality.

Formal Education

• Completed Matric/Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
• Completed Trade Test Certificate.
• Code 8 Driver’s License.

Working Experience

• Minimum 6 months of relevant work experience.
• Experience in explosives manufacturing is an advantage.

• Customer-focused with strong accountability.
• Ability to manage complexity and make quality decisions.
• Proficient in troubleshooting technical issues and equipment utilization.
• Action-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills.
• Capable of implementing engineering tasks effectively.
