Sasol careers – Artisan Electrician
Purpose of the Role
As an Artisan Electrician, you will operate and maintain basic electrical equipment and systems while performing routine tasks to meet performance targets, following strict guidelines and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in shift handover meetings and provide feedback on work progress.
- Engage in root cause analyses and offer insights to RCA teams.
- Conduct risk assessments in line with legal and company requirements to enhance safety.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and follow waste disposal procedures.
- Work independently and contribute to achieving business objectives and KPIs.
- Identify personal training needs and integrate them into personal development plans.
- Conduct on-the-job coaching for learners and present technical knowledge on plant equipment.
- Perform IMS inspections to improve plant sustainability.
- Collaborate effectively within a team, contributing to PDAs and RCAs to enhance plant safety and stability.
- Take a lead role during emergencies to restore plant operations promptly.
- Provide input during toolbox talks to enhance workplace safety.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in your work area.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Grade 12 or N3 with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English.
- Certification: Trade Certificate in Electrical.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a relevant field.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in electrical fundamentals, systems, and troubleshooting.
- Strong focus on customer needs and decision-making.
- Ability to analyze alternatives and recommend solutions.
- Action-oriented and accountable with excellent teamwork and stakeholder relationship management.
