Role Purpose
The Analyst, Implementation & Customer Application, Air & Sea is responsible for providing commercial support for customer visibility and implementation, driving strategic project leads, managing internal projects and process improvements, providing internal and external training on customer visibility tools, and supporting business implementation, especially related to EDI projects. The role also involves being the reporting analyst for special customer reporting requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in systems and process analysis within a logistics environment.

  • Preference for candidates with senior systems and process experience or those with operational/supervisory roles in operations or account management, provided they have suitable technical acumen and exposure to systems.

Qualifications

  • Matric (essential)

  • Advantageous to have an industry-level qualification or tertiary qualification.

Required Computer Skills

  • Cargowise or other related industry TMS

  • Microsoft Dynamics/CRM software

  • Purchase Order Management Systems

  • Customer Visibility platforms

  • Power BI

  • Understanding of EDI and API technologies and disciplines

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support sales by assisting with customer applications and value-added services, including Purchase Order Management, Customer Visibility, online bookings, and advanced customer reporting.

  • Drive customer innovation and continuous improvement initiatives by effectively communicating customer requirements for development.

  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancements of customer applications as a superuser.

  • Lead strategic implementation projects nationally (subject to scope qualification) and provide first-line support to the national team, including maintenance, setup, change management, and error resolution.

  • Develop documentation for training and implementation according to best practice standards.

  • Deliver internal and external training on customer applications, connectivity, and reporting.

  • Provide vertical development support by managing and implementing complex reporting requests.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and process improvement initiatives, working with teams such as Robotics and Innovation to develop solutions.

  • Lead and coordinate strategic customer implementations within the division or across divisions, ensuring effective engagement with global teams for successful origin/destination implementations.

  • Monitor, manage, and track all major implementation projects, ensuring deadlines are met and costs are tracked using project management software.

  • Coordinate and project manage customer EDI/API integrations, including customer engagement, scoping, costing, and User Acceptance Testing.

  • Contribute to the content and maintenance of templates, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.

  • Assist in the creation and presentation of national training material on implementation, EDI, specialized reporting, and order management best practices.

  • Promote product awareness and reinforce best practices across the organization.
