Purpose of the Job
House & Home, a division of the Shoprite Group—Africa’s largest retailer—has exciting opportunities for an Admin Controller to join our dynamic team. This role operates in a fast-paced furniture retail environment where customer needs and operational efficiency are paramount.
Job Objectives:
- Manage all cash-related activities within the branch.
- Oversee the credit control function, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Handle payments and credit agreements, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and compliant payment work area.
- Conduct follow-ups on insurance requests and approvals.
- Print, authorize, and quality-check contracts and supporting documentation.
- Submit credit agreement documentation for final approval and monitor the process.
- Follow up on contract and TV license approvals.
- Address customer queries and complaints related to credit issues promptly.
- Train new sales staff on National Credit Act requirements and proper contract documentation procedures.
- Provide training and quality oversight for admin clerks.
- Assist with safe money drops and ensure secure handling of cash.
Qualifications:
- Essential: National Senior Certificate (Matric).
- Desirable:
- Admin and Sales Management training.
- Trainee Manager training.
- Cost control diploma.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the retail or furniture environment is advantageous.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Familiarity with retail furniture operations (6-12 months preferred).
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of the National Credit Act and credit agreement processes.
