Job Purpose:
As an Account Manager, your primary mission is to drive new business sales revenue in your region and handover successfully to the farmer Account Manager. This role is critical in achieving MTN’s growth targets, enhancing profitability, and increasing market share in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive Profitable Growth
- Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets by identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Engage in proactive strategies, including cold calling, lead generation, and account acquisition planning, to secure new clients.
- Monitor competitor activities and provide actionable insights to support business growth.
- Ensure smooth handover of new clients to the farmer Account Manager.
2. Account Management
- Address and resolve escalated client issues.
- Enhance MTN’s brand presence and influence within your assigned accounts.
- Provide feedback on competitive threats and suggest product or service improvements.
- Prepare regular performance reports and drive customer engagement.
3. Customer Experience
- Ensure all customer queries are resolved within agreed SLA timelines.
- Meet and exceed customer expectations, delivering a high-quality service experience.
4. Governance & Quality Control
- Maintain high-quality standards and ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulations.
- Continuously improve processes and seek customer feedback for enhancing service standards.
5. Project Management
- Oversee the implementation, tracking, and compliance of assigned projects.
- Manage contracts in line with MTN’s procurement policies and ensure timely project reporting.
6. Business Analysis & Innovation
- Conduct business analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Develop business cases for new initiatives and ensure the best practices are adopted for optimal performance.
- Identify business improvement opportunities and contribute to enhancing MTN’s operational effectiveness.
7. Leadership & Team Collaboration
- Foster a customer-centric approach and build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Promote MTN’s values and drive team commitment to organizational goals.
- Proactively communicate and resolve any conflicts to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Education: 3-year degree/diploma in Commerce, Marketing, Communication, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Account Management (with a focus on new business development). ICT experience and experience in large enterprises preferred.
