Alarm Technician – Fidelity Vacancies

Position Overview
Fidelity Vacancies is seeking a skilled and experienced Alarm Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, programming, and fault-finding of domestic alarm systems, with occasional work on CCTV, intercoms, and access control systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric or equivalent
• 3–5 years’ experience as an alarm technician
• Proven experience in programming, wiring, installations, and troubleshooting alarm systems
• PSIRA Grade C registration (compulsory)
• Valid driver’s licence

Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Texecom systems
• Experience with Listener advantageous
• Basic knowledge of CCTV, intercom, and access control systems advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct service calls, maintenance, and repairs on alarm systems
• Program and reprogram alarm panels, including systems taken over from other providers
• Complete client handovers, quotations, invoices, and job cards accurately
• Install radio communication devices and links for new clients
• Treat all clients with professionalism and courtesy
• Maintain a neat appearance and wear full company uniform
• Address client problems or complaints efficiently
• Ensure assigned vehicle is roadworthy, clean, and properly inspected before leaving the office/hub
• Complete daily drive sheets, job reports, and technical invoices
• Quote clients on system upgrades
• Conduct vehicle, electrical, and ladder inspection checks and report to management
• Assist with stock control and ensure company equipment is properly maintained
