Description:
Cashbuild is seeking a dedicated General Assistant to provide comprehensive customer service, manage merchandise, maintain shelf labeling, and ensure excellent housekeeping standards. This role requires a proactive approach to enhancing the shopping experience and maintaining store safety.
Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 10/NQF 3 with 1 year of work experience OR Grade 12 with no prior experience.
- Fluency in English and the dominant local language.
- Valid South African ID or work permit.
- Basic numeracy skills for accurate calculations.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Key Performance Areas:
Customer Service
- Advise customers on product selection and resolve queries promptly.
- Address and escalate customer complaints effectively.
Merchandising Standards
- Safely stock and display merchandise per store layout guidelines.
- Ensure alignment with planograms in assigned sections.
Housekeeping
- Maintain clear aisles for customer safety and accessibility.
- Update shelf labels and complete daily checklists (e.g., canteen, restroom schedules).
Safety Compliance
- Adhere to OHSA regulations, including use of safety gear.
- Report hazards and ensure safe stock placement to prevent accidents.
Stock Loss Management
- Identify and report damaged stock to the Store Manager.
