Financial Accountant
Top Vitae Recruitment is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. In this role, you will provide back-office support and services to a USA-based specialty collateralized reinsurance company and other Group entities. You will be responsible for financial reinsurance reporting, process improvements, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures, including reinsurance journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of reinsurance reports, supporting the quarterly reporting process.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced financial controls.
- Take part in ad-hoc projects and financial initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Prior experience in captive insurance or reinsurance is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- High level of initiative, reliability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Dedicated work ethic and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
