Job Description
Cashbuild is seeking a dedicated General Assistant to deliver exceptional customer service, manage stock merchandising, maintain accurate shelf pricing, and uphold high standards of housekeeping. This role requires flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays while ensuring a safe and efficient store environment.
Requirements
- Grade 10/NQF Level 3 with 1 year of relevant experience or Grade 12 with no prior experience.
- Proficiency in English and the dominant local language.
- Valid South African ID or work permit.
- Basic numerical skills for accurate calculations.
- Willingness to work under pressure and adapt to varying schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide informed product advice and resolve customer queries promptly.
- Address and escalate customer complaints effectively.
Merchandising Standards
- Safely merchandise bulk stock areas according to store layout plans.
- Ensure designated zones align with planograms for optimal product display.
Housekeeping
- Maintain clear, obstacle-free aisles for customer safety and convenience.
- Label shelves accurately and complete daily cleaning checklists (e.g., canteen, restrooms).
Safety Compliance
- Adhere to OHSA regulations, including proper safety gear usage.
- Report hazards and ensure safe stock placement to prevent accidents.
Stock Loss Management
- Identify and report damaged stock to the Store Manager promptly.
