Purpose of the Job
The Forecourt Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing sales within petrol station forecourts and convenience outlets. This role requires strong knowledge of forecourt operations, excellent relationship management, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment while ensuring consistent availability and effective merchandising.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow forecourt and convenience retail accounts within the beverage and snack categories
- Manage and grow private label product performance within the forecourt channel
- Provide high-frequency service to ensure consistent availability and merchandising standards
- Build strong working relationships with site managers and forecourt teams
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment to prevent out-of-stock situations
- Execute promotional activations and ensure effective point-of-sale implementation in line with promotion cycles
- Track SKU performance, particularly fast-moving items, and recommend assortment improvements
- Provide insights into consumer buying behaviour within the forecourt environment
- Execute route plans with a strong focus on forecourts and strict adherence to NDDs
- Support credit control processes and reconcile on-site transactions and payments
- Compile and present channel-specific activity and performance reports
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 5 to 10 years of relevant sales experience, with at least 3 years in forecourt or convenience sales
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven sales performance over the past 12 months
